TubeThumb Tools is a small collection of browser-based utilities designed for YouTube creators. The tools help you work with thumbnails, embeds, Shorts URLs and channel images quickly, without needing to sign up or install anything.

Everything runs as a static site, which means there is no custom backend and no database. The pages you see are just HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hosted on a static hosting platform.

About the editor

Alex Carter writes and maintains TubeThumb Tools. Alex researches YouTube metadata and thumbnail standards, tests site workflows in the browser, and turns that work into practical, plain-language tools and guides.

Why I built this: creators kept wasting time with bloated tools just to grab a thumbnail or verify sizing. TubeThumb Tools was built as a fast, no-login workflow that runs directly in the browser.

• Create: tools and guides start with firsthand testing in the live browser-based site.
• Review: claims about YouTube behavior are checked against official YouTube or Google documentation when available.

How the tools work

The tools on this site work entirely in your browser:

• When you paste a YouTube URL or video ID, the page uses simple JavaScript to extract the ID and construct standard, publicly accessible thumbnail and embed URLs.
• When you upload an image (for mockups or channel art), that image is handled locally by your browser to generate a preview. It is not sent to a server for processing.
• No official YouTube Data API calls are made, and no scraping of YouTube pages takes place.

Privacy

This site is intentionally minimal in the data it collects. The core tools do not require an account and do not ask for any personal information such as your name or email address.

When you paste a YouTube URL or upload an image, that data is processed in your browser in order to generate previews and links. The site itself does not store a log of the URLs or files you use with the tools.

Analytics & usage data

TubeThumb Tools uses the Google tag (gtag.js) for basic analytics and site performance measurement. This may process page views, approximate location from IP, browser/device details, and referral sources.

You can opt out by rejecting analytics cookies in the consent banner, withdrawing consent later, or using browser privacy controls and extensions that block analytics tags.

Advertising (Google Publisher Products)

TubeThumb Tools may use Google Publisher Products (including Google AdSense) to show and measure ads. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies or use similar identifiers for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and reporting.
